What is a VGP (periodic regulatory inspection)?

A VGP (Vérification Générale Périodique) is a mandatory regulatory inspection required by the French Labour Code (art. R.4323-22 et seq.) to keep work equipment in a compliant condition. It covers lifting equipment, industrial trucks, construction machinery, fall-protection PPE and pressure equipment. Every VGP must be logged in a safety register and produce an inspection report.
